New Laptop
Well, we got my brother a new laptop for college. When he uses it I don't once in a while and it's great. HP, very nice laptop. It has the new high-def monitors and the picture is so clear compared to my LCD, it's crazy.
Here are the specs:
15.4" Widescreen High-Def screen
AMD Athlon 3200+
1GB Ram
80 GB HD
Nvidia Geforce4 440 64MB dedicated video ram
Built in wireless 804.11/g (I think thats it) 54mbps wireless card
6 in 1 Media reader (I think ours had this)
Harmon/Kardon speakers
DVD+-/RW and CD burner combo
And other little things I can't remember.
I really recommend this laptop, it's great!

Gorilla, you can't even hear it. Sometimes you can depending on how much work you're doing but usually its very quiet.
DOS: I talked with the manager of CompUSA and we got the laptop, printer, wireless hub, 3 year extended warranty, and free case up to $70 for a little over $2000. The printer and wireless hub are FAR though.

That sucks. This doesn't get hot either. It's a great running machine. I was going to get a sony vaio first but I heard better things about HP and it just had better specs for the money.

Is it similar to this one?
What's the model number? It sounds just like the one I bought for my 8 year old daughter. If it's the same one, the fan is very quite and the battery does last a long time. I am able to see 2 dvd movies full screen (widescreen) without having to recharge my battery.
Not like the previous one that was running hot and the fan was loud. Speakers are great. It's also great for games.
A must have for gamers or movie buffs.

^Yea, HP seems to be the way to go for laptops.
Do you know anything in the 20-40Gig, 512 Ram, range from them?

It's very similar to that one. I'll get the model number when he comes back from school.
My battery lasts like 4 hours+
Dos, they had one at CompUSA for $700 AR with pentium 4 3.2 ghz, 40 GB HD, 256MB ram, and other stuff. The only bad thing was it didn't have the nice monitor and stuff.

Na, she like Metal of Honor.
Kids now a days have so much homework it was just easier to get her one cuz she was always on mine. It's also easier because it's portable and wireless. She also prefers the laptop instead of the desktop.
