PS7 Crash
My Photoshop 7 is crashing during initialization. I've uninstalled/reinstalled it but it didn't help. Is anyone familiar with this problem or have any advice that may solve it?

Yeah, three times.
Another thing that started happening about a month or two ago, don't know if it's related, is, IE doesn't open. What I do is a ctrl/alt/del and end the iexplore.exe process and try again. I repeat this until it starts, sometimes 5 or 6 times. If I don't end the iexplore.exe process, it will just keep adding another iexplore.exe process each time I try to open IE, until it approaches 100% cpu usage. Each iexplore.exe process is about 12k.

No. just a few plugins ... no extra fonts or brushes. The fonts I only load during a session, and they are unloaded when I close it, and I haven't installed any brushes.
I think I'll try a system restore just for the heck of it.

Yeah, just Ad-aware and Housecall though, I did RegClean too. I also ran Spybot and AVG after the IE problem appeared as well .. but no luck.

1. Try installing it with your Antivirus disabled dude.
2. Tear everything to do with Adobe Photoshop out of the registry - (only do this if your familiar with the registry or else you could be left with a bigger problem)
See where that get's you.

I don't think so because the setup file is for installation, and this program was already installed.

I would be inclined to agree with G10. If it's something buried in the registry, it's going to be difficult to track down. A system restore didn't help, so that tells me that it is probably a reg setting that is going to be
1. Associated with PS and/or Windows.
2. Difficult to fix without reinstalling Windows
OR
A corrupted file associated with Windows (since IE is also toast)
IE and PS may be part of the same problem, or they may not be the same problem at all. In your shoes, if I didn't have a lot of software installed, I would cut my losses (troubleshooting time and effort) and backup my data and reinstall Windows. This will fix both problems as well as any other problems that you haven't yet noticed. There's a line that you cross when it is faster to reinstall instead of troubleshoot. Since your problem is software and not hardware, reinstalling will clear it up.

Yeah, disabling the anti-virus didn't help, and I'm not confident to get into the registry, so I will probably end up formatting ... which I haven't done for around 2 to 2 1/2 years .. lol. It shouldn't be too bad because I've got about everything I care about already copied to a small secondary drive.
