Have you noticed
sites going offline for days at a time. Several sites that I frequent have gone down for days and then magically reappeared. So has the compamy that they are are hosted on.

Does anybody know about this?

Can't say who is off now. But I know that biyw dot com was off for 3 day this week as was the hosting company that hosts them. Just this weekend Loreleiweb dot com was off yesterday and today until just recently. There were a few other sites that I have visited in the past few weeks where the same thing happened. Is there a virus or something taking out servers?

That is all I know

DOS, you might be right, but 3 days seems extreme. I would think that hosts would be down for at most a few hours at a time for upgrades and such. Wouldn't they move people to a new server while doing such work?

Yeah, but don't forget there are crappy hosts out there that are run by 14 year old kids that don't really know what they are doing.
