Any Skype experts?
I downloaded Skype, and have not had a proper conversation yet, because after a round 50 seconds it crashes my PC. Has anyone else heard of this problem and what the solution was.
I'm just about going to go to the Sony Vaio site to see if I can get an uptodate drivers for the sound card. Other than that any ideas?
Darren

What all are you running when trying to use skype?
If you want a quick way to see all system processes www.neo-1.com/hijackthis.zip
do a system scan and save a log file... there is a thread in the computers and internet area to post your logfile.zip
That would make it easier to see if you have something internally wrong...
but then again up to date drivers never hurt either

I to had the same problem, so i removed it.
It worked, but not well.
I'm using a pent 4, but only a 1.6. (skype runs better with a larger processor)
My Ram is low too (skype runs better with more Ram)
I'm gonna build a new PC soon with higher specs, i will then re-install skype and see how it goes....
Check your processor and Ram sizes against skypes specifications....
If they are low like mine are at the moment, it will load up, but it won't work properly.
The other thing that struck me, is you may have a conflict issue with other programs.
This may, or may not help, but i hope it does.

It's good to see you're getting into the spirit of things, Atom.
But, the forum lobby is waaaaaay happening!

I'm simply bumping the posts below Horseshit Island in all the forums they spammed so that their posts don't appear on the index page. I removed their crap to the spam can from the Graphic Design Forum but that's all I can do because it is the only forum that I mod.

Good to see you posting anywhere.
I think Brian has done some cleanup.

You know, since this thread has been resurrected......
Will Skype allow you to talk to other Skype users while it's under another program?
In other words, could I play poker online and have Skype running under that window and still be able to talk to the person?

Or it could have been Ferre.
Thanks, Zap, and likewise.
You see, I didn't ask to be a mod. I was asked. And I do not ask for CP permissions. If John wants me to have any extra permissions, he will have to ask me if I want them. Just the kind of guy I am. I would probably do just about anything John asked of me, and I trust his judgement and rarely question it. As far as I'm concerned, he alone knows what's best for his forum.
That Horseshit Island spammer was a real doosie though eh? lol

Well, I'm a bit slow today and don't really get your meaning, but this probably isn't the best thread to be discussing it (Skype? lol). Shoot me a PM if you want, Zapper.
