Workgroup problem XP

Two computers both XP home edition. I don't want the workgroup anymore, but cant get rid of it. Also they are not even named the same yet computer a can still see documents on computer b; so how do i get rid of it?

Windows works in Workgroup mode OR Domain mode.

It defaults to workgroup mode and Windows XP HOME is not capable of domain mode.

But, you must have one or the other, unless you want to remove networking (including the internet) completely.


Short Answer: You can't.

you can remove the workgroup by putting the two computers in different workgroups. The internet will only stop working if the internet connection is shared from one computer to the other, if there is a router in place, it won't be affected.
