Outlook Express e-mail
I have a minor problem with Outlook Express in that I find automatic page numbering a pain in the neck. Many of my incoming e-mails would print on a single sheet if it were not for the space wasted at the top of the page, as it is at present, the last line or two print on a new sheet. Help anyone! How do I suppress page numbers?

Get rid of Outlook Express and go with Outlook 2003
Or even better use Linux and use Evolution

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "page n umbers."

So, with Outlook 2003, he'll no longer have page numbers?

I'm personally surprised not more people use Thunderbird. Maybe I'm just a Mozilla fanboy, hard to tell.

For most general purposes yes, I agree. However, I have a lot..err some important emails that I don't want to be left on Google's servers. I feel better having htem downloaded and backed up on my own computer.

If all I had was G-mail (or any other service for that matter) I'd just stick with the web version of things. But with accounts at 4 different places, Thunderbird just makes it so much easier.

E-mail page numbers
Response to my query re e-mail page numbers is much appreciated. Christy asked what do I mean by page numbers. Waffles said, "Where does it say page number.........".
For personal reasons I print and file most of my e-mail correspondence and with Outlook Express (at least my version - and I assume there is only one version) the notation, "Page 1 of 3" etc appears at the top right corner of each page. This is followed by a wide blank space, neither of which I need.
My overseas family history research involves exchanging valuable information by e-mail, and while the info is recorded in databases, information sources are also worth saving and my filing cabinets are bulging. I'd transcribe all the e-mails to CD but at age 75 there may not be enough time for that!!!

To my knowledge, there's no way to get rid of that for printing. You could always copy and paste the email in word?

Actually, what I said was "Where it says page number 1 of 1." Big difference. But see the post above me for a good answer. That's all I can think of.

Just be careful what are you using when labeling your CD/DVD, regular marker can destroy your media during time (experienced myself ). Always use non aggressive marker or labels, made for media.
Cheers, Marin

Apologies
Waffles, please accept my apologies for misquoting you, and thanks for your interest in my query.
Thanks Marin for the tip re labeling CDs, I'll be sure to observe that.
Thanks to all who have responded to my request for info.
Best wishes to all.

Don't worry about it. Unless it really changes what I meant then I don't.
