Skype problem

Hi

My skype icons for my contacts often show them offline when in fact they are online. This seems to have started a couple of months ago and may be connected to upgrading. I have checked on the skype forums, many people have the same problem, but cant seem to find an answer.

Anyone have the same problem, and a fix?

I recently rolled back to an earlier version of skype to fix a problem i had ..might be worth giving it a try. you should find the older version here http://www.oldapps.com/

I have treid downgrading and upgrading, but it didnt help. Not sure what is happening really; I guess it could just be a bug in the system. I may have to wait till a new version of skype comes out.

It happens with every person in my friend circle. They all face this problem. Must be a bug in the Skype network/software.

Add me to the list of those experiencing the problem. Although it's more of one sided as I am under Linux which only has Skype v1.2 (?). But those using the newest version have said before that I was offline when I know that I actually was online...

I've the same problem,seems that 1.5 is better than 2.0

I still have the same problem as I originally posted - nothing seems to have worked that I have tried. I am just waiting for a new version to come out and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Can't someone invent a system where you can call people on different systems e.g. from skype to yahoo or google or wherever? Anyone know why this doesn't exist yet?
