RealMetrics is liked by many
Email Hosting Performance Metric
We are launching a new performance monitoring category for Email Hosting Services. When we display their performance metrics would it better to see independent email sending and receiving test times, or just a round trip time that includes their internal transfer time too?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I guess you'd have to test on an isolated LAN only. IMO, too many variables on the internet to do any reliable WAN metrics.
