What's the virus for this?

I had the following problem: when you type in an url or choose from the address list, the browser is blank and only the following at the left top: <M. Click refreshing button can direct to the pages.

This problem happens today or tomorrow, not every day. What's the virus for this and how to remove it? Thanks.

Not heard of this one before but here's how to give your computer a good clean up of malware. I assume you will be able to do this at some point despite your browsing problem.

Download AVG AntiSpyware (formerly Ewido) from here ....

http://www.ewido.net/en/

Do NOT use it yet.

--------------------

Now boot to safe mode. Here’s a “how to” if you’re not sure ..

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...01052409420406

--------------------

When in safe mode run a full system scan with AVGAS and let it fix what it wants to.

REMEMBER TO SAVE THE SCAN REPORT and also remember where you saved it.

--------------------

NOTE >> this is the free trial version of the program. It will expire in 30 days but is still useful as an "on demand" scanner so keep it updated and scan with it from time to time.

--------------------

If all your work doesn't succeed in fixing the problem download HijackThis from here ...

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html

unzip & install it ...
open the program ...
from the menu click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile".

Copy and paste both the AVGAS and HJT scan reports to this thread. I will be able to analyse the log and, hopefully, give you specific removal instructions for whatever it is that's causing the problem.
