Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
Having just accepted the upgrade to IE7, does anyone else feel that the lack of File, Edit etc. tabs missing and Favourites sharing the same Tab as history etc. is confusing?

The menu isn't missing, you just need to activate it.
Under tools, click on menu bar.

Ah, OK! I have just done it. Thanks! It has appeared UNDER the address bar. Can I re-position it?

I have the Google toolbar installed also, so I just drag the menu bar clear over to the right - with the other stuff.

There are some tutorials for moving it back to the old location like it was in ie6, but once I got used to it, it was just easier for me over on the right with the other menu type stuff.

Nice tip, Brian. I almost never need the menu so it is nice to be able to pop it up real quick without leaving it there. Thanks!

Does anyone know how to get the Home button? I need it for this:
Quote:
Your security setting level puts your computer at risk
We recommend that you do not browse the web with your current security settings.
To fix this, click on the Information Bar above, and choose Fix Settings for Me.
To continue browsing in the current state, click the Home button (not recommended).

On my setup, it is on the right hand end of the bar the tabs show up on. Just a little icon of a house.

Was that a pop-up from a site you were looking at? If so, I would recommend not downloading anything from them. There are sites that say you have to have something wrong with your computer and in order to fix the problem you need to install such and such to get rid of it. Then they hijack your computer and try to SELL you something that will get rid of the thing you DIDN'T have, until AFTER you installed what they said you needed to fix a problem you never had in the first place. Experience is the best teacher after all...

No that's the home page of my IE7. The url is about:SecurityRisk. I rarely use it so it's not that big a problem but still would like to remove it. I can't even access the tabs, what do you press to open a link in a tab?

Have you tried to click on the information bar the page is refering to? It could be your privacy settings are a little out of whack or something. Or maybe it doesn't detect you using an antivirus or firewall..

I can have the right settings for removing it but I don't want to. Instead I want to do this:

To continue browsing in the current state, click the Home button (not recommended).
