My eyes my eyes
I just switched over from Opera to FF today. Does anyone know how to turn off the alt text that appears on mouse over?

Wow, when did they remove the tabbed browsing option from IE7?

If anyone knows the answer to this, I really need to know. Opera has a feature that allows you to turn off tool tips. I haven't been able to locate this feature in FF.

I mean, the text disappears after 5 seconds or so if the cursor is held there, and if the cursor is removed sooner than 5 seconds, but just its presence is annoying. Example: mouse over a link on the index page under "Last Post", and the alt text should appear revealing the beginning words of the last post. Very annoying.

I've been trying to figure this out for several hours. I guess I may have to change it in Chrome. What a PITA.
Damn FF doesn't want you to turn that crap off, I can't believe it!

I don't notice anything that resembles what I think I'm looking for in the about:config list, otherwise I'd just disable it there.

Are there any FF users here that are actually familiar enough with their browser to know the answers to my question I guess is what I should be wondering. hmmm
Well I don't understand a lot of code but I think it's an alt attribute? Or a title attribute possibly? Hell I don't know.

Yeah, that's what I want, a browser where you can't move your cursor without a damned sea of yellow friggin flags of useless text popping up all over the damn place.

First it was crashing, so I switched back to Opera. Now I'm ready to give it another shot and this crap in Firefox is laid before my very eyes, I just can't believe I'm actually witnessing this in a browser.

I've never seen such nonsense in a browser. Firefox SUCKS!
Incidentally, if I've overlooked something simple, which is quite possible, BTW, I take it all back.
