Best way to clean a laptop screen
How is it done? I think I recall reading that one shouldn't use soap and water, no?

1 part rubbing alcohol with 1 part water.
Lint-free cloth.
Gentle wiping.
I use an old glasses cloth, the kind opticians give you.

A sandblaster?
Probably why I no longer work in I.T.!
You can get a box of screen wipes which probably works out cheaper in the long run than getting the bits together yourself dude.
I was on about these kind of screen wipes

Have you never watched Karate Kid.
Wax on ...
Wax off ...
Be careful what you use, it can discolour the casing. Alcohol can eat away some cheap paints and finishes. Be gentle, wet a cloth, ring it out till no drips, dry your hands, then wax on and wax off. A tooth brush is good for all the little nooks and crannies.
If all else fails use the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon, its acidic so you might want to dilute it a bit. Smells fresh too. Lemonade doesn't work.

Apologies, you are right, I was referring to the casing mainly. There are mitigating circumstances, see 'Cooker disaster leads to toasting candles'.
I need a hot meal, its beginning to affect my concentration.

I just buy a box of screenwipes. I got these ones once that were in a container kinda like baby wipes, and even though it was sealed shut, when I took it hope and opened it they were all dried out! So I just buy a box with individually sealed ones now.

Hahaha John I only read the first few posts.
I use windex and paper towels and have never had an issue not even a scratch or scuff.
