What to do with a laptop?
So...I [impulsed] bought a laptop a month or two ago.
I'm not that sure what to do with it. I tried making it connect to the internet wirelessly through my router, but my freakin' router wasn't working with it for some reason.
Just wondering...what exactly is there to do with a laptop? Any benefits, besides mobility? A wireless internet connection would be good, but...I don't really need it. I have a desktop.
Looking for any and all ideas.
Thanks.

You could give it to me. I wouldn't have a problem with that.
But seriously, mobility is the only real benefit I've seen. And I think that one's subjective for each person. Not enough to make up for the crappy keyboard for me.

As you said, mobility, but not just from building to building. The freedom to work in your background, or your living room, or to show your friends pictures over dinner.

Besides mobility I think it works more pleasant. Everything looks much smoother in my eyes. Although that could be the fact that my desktop specs suck, and my keyboard and mouse are ~7 y/o.

You must have a helluva long commute and 3 or 4 batteries. Laptop too clunky stuff like gaming on the go. Why not just get a PSP and mod it for Wi-Fi use?

laptops are great for portability and that is about it. a desktop is much easier to fix, change and use. however, i still have a laptop because i like to watch tv and sit on the couch with my laptop.
i also like to take it with me on occasion... so i guess that means laptop.

Business? Naw. Absolutely for individuals as well. Depends on your lifestyle.

This discussion depends on the type of latop. If it's one of these then just sit back and bask in the glory that is technology. And please post pictures of those GINORMOUS floppy disks the size of magician's blades.
Otherwise, you can turn your laptop into a digital picture frame.

I use my laptop when I'm relaxing in my bed. Maybe that's my problem 'cause I just have too many projects in my hands all the time. I bought it specially for design, mobility and comfort purposes.
I also have a 2yr old Dell laptop but I turned it into a test machine when I bought an IBM Thinkpad.
There should have been a reason that made you buy that laptop. If you can't think of any good reason to use your laptop, turn it into a juke box.

Last of the XPs. I'm not up for Vista, yet.
Though I'm still pondering with the idea of Ubuntu.
