Vista all the way. XP was fine, but to me, Vista is like a nice face lift to XP, a few added features, like it actually closes a program that is not responding right away. It pops up these little boxes that prevent anything from getting onto your computer without you knowing, which can be a pain sometimes, but it's worth it.
But I have dual core with 2GB of ram on my laptop Maybe with less, as people have said, it's not worth it for Vista.
Now don't get me wrong, I would do a nice Linux over all of them if it wasn't for the need for practicality.

i agree totally, but i have to add we still dont have an O/S that can play all old and current video games well, and the amount of power needed to play in vista is greater than xp, but most people here prob dont play games on there pc and so wont be bothered

Until I get a machine to handle the resource-demand by Vista, I will stick to using Windows XP pro.

I'm starting to get used to Vista and hope Microsoft will release a service pack soon.

I succumbed to a new system recently, and it came with Vista. I thought "I'll give it a try and if it eats me I'll bulk it and load XP." Up to this point I have only had very minor problems with it. All of my pre-Vista programs are working fine, even some that go back a ways. Of course I'm using the 32-bit version.
The downside? I had to buy a new printer. But the things are so cheap these days I was able to triple my functionality for a third of the price of my previous printer.
Though it's not incredibly different than XP (MS has done the icon shuffle and renaming routine again) it seems to work fine.
And no, I do not work for Microsoft.

xp right now, but I also like the look and feel to vista. Both are fine to me I'll like vista more when more things become vista compatible.

I prefer vista but at the moment I'm using XP because my sound card driver malfunctions in Vista (it's the manufacturer's fault, not Microsoft's). I'm looking forward to being able to go back to it.

Everyone I have asked, that has Vista, whether it is good or not says, they regret that they installed it!
Everyone says it's a load of **** (That's as blunt as you can get it!)

I have used both but rather XP. Vista has too many bug as of right now maybe in a year it will be better. Although I've heard Vista Ultimate is better.

I like Windows XP. Windows XP is a line of operating systems developed by Microsoft for use on general-purpose computer systems, including home and business desktops, notebook computers, and media centers.
