Not at all the case for me - I am always open to knew technologies and software. Heck I have Linux running on 6 machines I work with. Vista is just a big, bloated, piece of junk. By building a new kernel (MinWin) that is less than 10% the size of Vista Microsoft is admitting the same thing themselves.
In my opinion Microsoft is caught in the middle of two great operating systems and is trying to chose a direction to go. On one hand you have Apple, which is really going after the entry level consumer market huge right now. Then you have Linux sitting on the other side, on the outskirts of consumers but is very much becoming a viable and plausible choice for corporate customers.
Then there is Microsoft with Windows XP. A product that is great, but cannot continue to produce the dollars they are used to because it is already in nearly every PC you can find. Windows Vista is their attempt at competing with Apple. They made it cool looking and apparently "safe" but completely lost site of functionality, compatibility and ease of use. Windows 7 (built on MinWin) will be the Linux combatant and it will be very interesting to see how/if they are able to deliver.
My 2 cents. :S
