out of all the firewalls you recomended above, which ONE would you recommend the most?

I recommend the CheckPoint Zone Alarm first. Some folk say it's a resource hog and choose one of the next 4 in the list.

Just my view though.

Thanks for all the info oddjob. Could you tell me if there is a program out there that can tell you how much life your computer has left in it or how stable it is. OR is there no accurate way to measure this?

Short answer ...no I can't. You need to be more specific ... is my RAM working up to spec? Is my hard drive apparently slowing down and making any odd noises? That kind of thing.

Maybe others here will have suggestions as you how you know when your computer is about to die.

If not try another forum ... www.help2go.com. Plenty of techie folk there with more experience than me.
