Internet Information Service Help

Hi everybody,

I know it's not really SEO issue, but I thought Internet Professionals might help me with this. It's about the strange things happened with my IIS server.

Today I noticed my IIS is not functioning.
I went to the services administration trying to fix it. IIS services are not started, it even doesn't allow to start them showing error message "... cannot find the path specified".

Then I went to IIS consol by itself trying to connect IIS to my local computer, it shows the same error.

I'm curious, if IIS gives an error "Error connecting to my computer name. Cannot find the path specified.", where can I look (may be in the registry) to see the PATH to my local computer from IIS? At least it will give me some idea. Another words its full of mess., and I really don't know what to do.

Please help!!!

Have a great day,
Peter

Internet Information Service Help

Wondering if anyone had an experience with IIS issues posted in my previous posting?

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day,
Peter

Thumbs down IIS

I am not sure bout it.. but.. What I remember about IIS is that it is installed along with your OS..

Maybe.. you need to re-install your OS to fix your IIS.. that's what we do during our college time..

It's just a suggestion..but maybe it can help you!!..

Thank you for your advice, Grace. It's really appreciated.
But I though there is some easy solution than reinstalling the OS. Any idea?

If any other thought, it will be greatly appreciated.

Have a great day,
Peter

Dont reinstall the OS unless you really have to.
Go into control panel, click 'Add remove windows components', Look for 'Application Server' or 'Internet Information Services' and untick the box, then next etc etc
DO a reboot, always good idea when fiddling with IIS, why it needs this I dont know but it can help.
Then do the above in reverse, ie tick the IIS box.

There is a wiki page for Win XP help, if you are running Server 2003, got to start and click 'manage my Server' and remove the 'application server'

goodluck
IIS can be a pain
