Showing my age

just out of interest I was wondering what peoples oldest computing memory is.

Mine was waking up one Christmas morning to find a Commodore 16 that Santa had bought for me. After setting it up I thought it was busted because the games wouldn't work. My mum tried, which made me laugh cause she can't use a microwave properly, got bored and went to make a cup of tea. Turns out I wasn't waiting long enough for the games to load, so by the time mum had made a cup of tea the game was loaded, (It was called Punchy) and my mum's been winding me up ever since.

Hmm.. I was so little when we had our first computer, I cannot even remember what kind it was. My parents had one in the early 80's, before I was born, and then I remember they got another one when I was like 4. My uncle had a really early Mac computer. I was born in '83. So I've been around computers my entire life.

Oh, my brother got what i though was one of the first computers but probably not and punchy sounds so familiar - actually he might have had one before the one i am thinking of, anyway it had a game on it called lazybones where a little skeleton ran up and down different floors using a lift and had to go in all these different doors, inside each door was a different game, space invaders, pac man etc - i think punchy might have come later and if i remeber involved a chicken? and some sort of crane like thing that he had to walk on, it moved about and he had to jump onto new levels?

Hmm it was probably about 1979 - 1980 and i was in my mid teens. I think we may still have that computer in my loft and as i remeber it, last time i played on it about 10 years ago, it still worked.

Ditto to Julie.

But early memories include Frogger, some thief game, and an art program where I used a tablet. No kidding! Commodore 64.

My first was a TRS-80 which I still have and that was followed up with a Tandy 1000 (EX?).

I still remember typing in Basic programs from Color Computer magazine - odds were I would make a mistake somewhere and spend hours trying to debug. Great memories.

My first was the Atom. It was given to me used but still in working order. It took tapes.

Then later our schools got some PET's and from there, the next year, it was a couple of 64's.

Then my uncle got an appleII and I was hooked from then on. I played most of the games that came with it. I moved from my typerwriter to the computer screen and just had to get my own. I finally did. That was about 87 or 88 I think.

25 now, but have early momories of playing the likes of pacman, space invaders etc... on a 'vic 20'.
got a commodor 64 for a birthday present and thaught it was the biz, it seems funny now how games were played of tapes rather than DVD's.
but my greatest memories have to be of my first 'amiga 500' (i still actually play the games on an emulator now )

Never could really afford computers at home when I was growing up, but I do remember them at school. My earliest memory was playing some good ole Oregon Trail with the 5.25" floppies. Hola.
