Getting a Mac OS X Leopard

http://www.apple.com/macosx/

I'll be getting one of those. Reiko is learning video editing so we can do video blogs.

Just wondering if there is anything I need to be looking for as far as the set up goes. It costs a pretty penny so I want to be sure it will be able to do the video editing I want it to.

Tips?

Lots of CPU power
Lots of RAM
Lots of video RAM
Lots of storage space

Generally the same as a Windows Machine, 2GB will be good enough for the generals I believe, but if the Apple Macs can take 4-8GB then you could get that but alas that would cost a pretty penny.

Please don't take my word on that for anything more than rumour sake as I have never used the Macintosh in anything other than an educational environment in college. Old eMac's for the win lol.

Lots of ram is pretty universal. Though I think a mac can go up to 16gig. Defnitely start with 3 or more. And for the love of god, do not edit with iMovie. Get a good prosumer level editor.

EDIT***

oh nm. its a laptop. I assumed a desktop dedicated to do video editing. and I assumed video editing when you said video editing, not video cut and pasting.

You and me, both, but I would want at least 4GB if that's doable, with the video RAM being separate and 1GB on its own, if that's also doable.
