haha, yes i remember when i was 16 years old, all i wanted to be was a hacker and i tried learning it for months. after a while i saw absolutely no point in it and put my actual talents to good use. oh, and getting a girlfriend helped. LOL

Yeah script kiddies are pretty annoying. I know sites who aren't causing any issues but some 16 year olds are offended by the success of the site and the fact they charge money. As a result this site every month gets hit by 500mbit+ ddos's in an attempt to bring the site down for good. Every time a Cisco guard is brought up to stop the attack but that sort of thing costs money.

What's sad is most of these kids doing it are living in North American but unless you're a fortune 500 company local authorities aren't going to do anything about it. Kids will be kids essentially no matter how many thousands of dollars in damages they cause each month because it's all virtual there is nothing to replace.

Hackers != Crackers.

Don't spoil the reputation of the people who spent their life trying to make computers powerful and smarter. It's sad to see many people, including some journalists, ignoring this fact.

And a real cracker doesn't deface websites for fun, script kiddies do. Crackers are busy people. They don't waste their time doing useless things. Most of these kiddies stay script kiddies all their life 'cause they don't have the skills to do what a cracker does.
