All of these statements appeared at different times within the last week or two on the Wikipedia Sam Walton page.

There has to be a way to create a better Wikipedia. Ideas?

lol it's funny in a sense. Luckily most of my Wikpedia research isn't on controversial topics.

Really the only way to negate these issues is a moderation bin, similar to what forums have the ability to use. Moderate (don't publicly) show edits until a moderator approves the changes. On the gigantic scale of Wikipedia it would take many, many dedicated people but it's really the only way.

Have a zero tolerance policy too, any IP that creates a bogus edit gets banned from editing all articles, period.

On a side note does anything thing actually ever get done at Wikipedia? I cannot tell you how many times I've seen the same articles with same cleanup notices on them, they never change except of course for the bogus edits like Mr. Walton's example above.

What about citizendium.org? It was created by one of the co-founders of Wikipedia with stricter editing rules, requires disclosure of your name if editing, etc.

To be honest though, I've not used it much.

Well Ive heard of Citizendium and they do have stricter policies, but I'm afraid that anything left open to the public to contribute will leave it open to 'attack'.

That means admin plays catch up with these users. You just can't create a perfect Wikipedia type site IMO.

I don't even bother reading statements like this. They show that the author has an extremely poor command of the English language.

Your / you're .... which to use? Is this difficult or is it me? I'm sure it's simply laziness. Why do so many people choose the wrong option?

I can list other examples as I'm sure we call can.

Unless Wiki has moderators who remove abuse then comments such as those you quote, John, will always be posted.

Wiki are meant to be edited by anyone so what else would you expect on some pages. There are people out there who are busy vandalising the wikis. And wikimedia is doing all the best that it can to in order to stop it.

I'm using a shared IP address (may be hundreds other users use my ip address) and I found out that I am unable to edit wikipedia.

Wikipedia and ebay are the bunghole of the internet...
Ya know they wouldn't be so bad if they just stayed in their corner but they get right in your face with 9 out of 10 searches on the net. I would personally like to see them both vanish.
