You talking to me?
Yea, it only took a little Google search to find your house, then I hopped on a plane. I didn't think you'd mind.

A few drinks and you could get anyone to dance.

Please forgive me. I assumed my "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" comment/solution was on topic.
So, another idea to avoid unwelcome adds would be for people to set their messenger preferences to block all messages from anyone not on their buddy lists. I think that's do-able? I know my daughter does it on AIM.

Many time people think I am ignoring them when I am simply either not at my computer, or have not noticed the message because I am working.

I wish the telesales who keep trying to sell my house something from India would follow this common courtesy as I don't like people who try to sell me worthless things and most of all speaking down the phone very quickly tends to leave me unable to understand them.

I don't post my s/n anywhere. I have had people guess at my s/n or get it from someone else and those people I refuse to speak to and I usually tell them so and then block them. To me it's inappropriate to im someone without their consent. If you post your s/n anywhere then I think that is an open invitation for someone to message you..

Firstly, I don't accept a contact request from an unknown person. Be it Facebook, AIM, Skype, Yahoo, MSN, GTalk or any other messenger/network. For example, if the person A sends me a request to add him as a contact and I'm aware that he's a good member, etc. of the v7n community, I'Il accept his request. Otherwise, I just hit the ignore button.
Even in the days when I used to accept all the contact requests, I used to stay polite as long as the person was a good human being. In those days, whenever a person sent me a link in the first 5 replies, I banned him and removed him from my list.
As far as staying busy is concerned, it's my fault if I make others feel that I'm ignoring them. If I make someone feel bad 'cause of my own fault then it's me who is gonna stay upset. That's why I don't log into messengers at all when I'm busy.
