Which Browser and Why?

Hi people,

I am wanting to know whch browser you use and why you think it's the best. I want to know this because i'm sick of reading biased Articles and blogs... so basically this has to be a well reasoned explanation for your choice of browser that can be supported by facts... not thoughts! Please give good answers as to why:

I will start off:

I prefer IE since IE 7 came out because I enjoy the speed it brings and i think security has come a long way. And i don't need extra protection to take away speed because I have Norton Internet Security protection. For me Firefox is much much slower than IE (talking 4-5 seconds / load) therefore IE is much faster, works better and more flexible.

I know lots of people prefer Firefox so please can people explain this to me!?

Thanks

Boog's

I'm not knowledge on browsers to a degree that I can make a factual approach to the backends and compatibility with things such HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.0 - 1.1 or CSS2/3 but I prefer Opera because of it's UI, speed and security.

I also like the old Mozilla Firefox, but then 2.0 came out and I didn't like it. For me Firefox isn't as good as everyone says, but thats personal preference.

@Xoomtech: Seriously you think it's faster; throughout my development at the stage of testing browser compatability Firefox performs the slowest; even surfing the web Firefox performs the slowest?

Can we have some more input on this please as i don't understand how this can be when Firefox is soooo slow for me?

Mozilla Firefox was a memory-hog, i'm not entirely sure whether it still is as I don't use it.

Recent research show more and more users flocking over to the FF camp. You decide.

I use Firefox, though as a web designer I use IE. Reason being is that because it's the most popular browser, it has to be compatible with that

ooo i get the feeling a lot of people would disagree with you there me included (only just lately though) you should use FF for your design then get it working the same in IE since FF is 100% w3c compliant and thus your site is technically more professional then.

It's getting easier to get it working in IE after FF now just with a few different statements or a separate styelsheet (i prefer this way)...

Personally I think IE is faster than FF, how comes i'm the only person who thinks this!?

Boogs ?

I think that you will find that most professional webmasters use more than one browser.

I use firefox for normal browsing but IE for checking my sites as the mozilla has some problems in exactly displaying the layout of the web page. Mozilla is comparatively faster than the IE but I feel as for as security is concerned, IE has an edge.
