Firefox is vastly better than IE if you are doing Web development.
Firefox has extensions that are nearly essential for Web development. Try out these: - Web Developer Toolbar
- Customize Google
- Search Status
- Scrapbook
- Palette Grabber
- Screengrab
- MeasureIt
- Show IP
- Xray
- User-agent Switcher
- Firebug
- Live HTTP Headers
- and many more...
You will never go back to another browser after you start using Firefox extensions like those.

Free Add-ons make FireFox more useful and tabbed interface makes it much user friendly.
I like FireFox over IE at least 10 times.

I like FireFox the best, they are both good and you could make arguments for both but I really like FF. The only things that sucks is that some real estate sites I use are not capable of using FF

My favorite is Opera as far as look and feel, although it is sorely lacking in features....of course that is how it is meant to be as it's goal is to be a small browser, second of course hands down is Fire Fox, I have that set as my default and have several ad-ons installed ie, linkedin, firebug, webmaster tools etc....can't beat it for that...and definately runs cleaner than IE without question.

MM mm mm... bias commnets! One thing I hate.
Don't rely on these pity comments. They are very one-sided. If I'm not mistaken, IE has had plug-ins since.. IE7..
Now, I'm not saying IE7 has better plug-ins, of course, we know FF does, since the market share for developers is invested in FF, not IE, therefor not allowing the IE market of plugins to grow much.
But of the majority of that list above, IE has. Once IE8 RC's are out, watch out FIREFOX!

I use both and I have many issues with them. IE sometimes just starts leaking my RAM and I have to kill the process and Mozilla keeps freezing. Maybe it's just me and my 10+ tabbed browsing

Looking through the logs on my site i see that IE is still browser that most visitors use. Almost 2x more than Firefox. Firefox is second one.
From one high traffic site:
IE 58 %
FF 31.9 %
Another one:
IE 66.1 %
FF 27.4 %

Of course it is. IE comes standard with Windows. Any non-savvy user will use it, and the best part is, nothing is required for the end user to use it, and it's automatically updated. Unlike Firefox, you have to know about it. It does, sort of, update itself though.
