Is Mozilla the best browser???
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me what is the main deference between IE and Mozilla Firefox ? I have been using IE (version 6.0) for one year but from now on I have decided to use Firefox. I just want to know as to what Mozilla can do which Internet Explorer can not.
Thanks!

From a user standpoint, you'll likely get arguments on both sides. It's comes down to user preference, really.
From a web developer's point of view, IE (any version) is not 100% open compliant to any standards. IE6 (and previous) was a joke in this regard, but IE7 is much closer, although not perfect. (Let hope IE8 makes the cut!)
Asking this is like asking, "Which to you prefer, bread or toast?" Both are essentially the same thing, but there are some differences.
If you are a web developer, you're going to find yourself using both to some extent.

From a average user point I'd say Firefox as its less intrusive than explorer. the last time i used explorer i lost count how many times i ran into problems. Now i am much happier...

where, from my long experience ( yea' sure..) I can tell you that mozilla is much better that IE. That if you have an good computer of course. FF is for the moment the best browser, have some good capacities, have some good add-ons. IE is working not very well on good computer, supercharging your virtual memory and he didn't have so much good popup protection.

I have used both for awhile now. FF being my primary, IE almost never. I design in FF, and have to hack it for IE. IE seems to have a harder time dealing with javascript. I can't count the times I've had to close out IE because of a hangup with js. FireFox is infinitely more customizable. IE seems to handle in-browser media better. FireFox is getting to be a memory hog. If you want something clean, quick and standards compliant, try Opera.

Fpr stability in security updates and positive reviews I will have to say FF as I recommend everyone to use it and have converted quite a few IE users to FF.

I think Firefox is the best since you get less pop-ups. You do, however, need to use IE to see what your website looks like since a lot of people are still using it.

I primarily use FF with these extensions:
Mouse gestures (a great productivity tool)
Translator
Undo Closed Tabs (for the careless)
Web Developer (essential)
IEtab (uses IE to render the target - Windows only, obviously)
.. plus a few extra search engines in the search drop down.
IE doesn't have the range of addons and search tools that I find essential.

You can open multiple tabs of windows that yo are visiting (websites) and this feature is very useful for many webmasters and regular users alike. This feature is not available in IE.
There are also many add-ons/functions that you can use with the Firefox browser but with IE, there are only a few in the toolbar only.

If you are concerned about security then i would say definitely go with firefox. As far mozilla being the best browser available if concerned, you can't really say, everybody has their own preference, personally i like Opera.

I rarely use IE.
I use FF because of the millions of addons you can install.

FF is really the best browser for me in terms of usage, customization and all that a webmaster needs for a browser... Well, in terms of design, I guess you should consider checking your layout in all browsers specially IE. Many of my friends switched already to FF...

Though the mozilla creates problem now and then while browsing, I still use it because it is much faster to browse than the IE
