Thumbs up Avoid High Transaction Charge When Using Paypal

this has been around for some time but i have used search
on v7n but can't seem to find one.
this compelled me to share this with those who are young ones on
PayPal, including young once.

PayPal's "Mass Pay" feature, which only costs $1 in fees, instead of the usual 4%,
is a feature not popularly used OR probably less understood.
this will save big bucks especially when transacting >$100 or so.

but how to use this feature. let me summarized what i have learned from
other forums.

Quote:
1. Open up notepad

2. Type the following information. Use Tab space (tab key and not space bar) in between
example:
recipient@hisdomain.com 100 USD

this will arrange a payment from your account to recipient@hisdomain.com for US$100.
this file will be uploaded as explained below.

3. Save the .txt file.

4. Login to your PayPal account.
- Once logged in, scroll down to see the "Mass Pay" link at the footer.

5. Upload your .txt file by browsing it from your saved location.
Type in the e-mail address you want the receipt to be sent to and perform the payment by clicking the button.
THAT'S IT!
That's a $1 maximum transaction charge for you.
Big savings for us all.

let me know if it's not clear enough.

One catch is that this only works with funds currently in your PayPal account.

I usually auto-debit my bank account with each PayPal transaction. That doesn't work with Mass Pay.

I suppose a solution would be to transfer money from your bank to your paypal, then making the mass pay. Wait, is that a solution? Do you get charged for bank to Paypal transfers?

So, instead of the person you are paying who gets the funds removed... you loose $1 now. How is this a benefit for the payment sender ???

Maybe I`m confused or just dumb. I have never been charged a fee through Paypal when I purchase something. I am only charged a transaction fee when someone purchases a product from me.

I am a longtime Paypal member and I normally pay between 1 to 3% for monies received. I do not recall being charged 4% for monies received and some of my single payments received are for a single product costing $499.00

So tell me, if paying other people through Paypal is free. Why would I want to pay a buck?
