Firefox 3 for Guinness World Records
Mozilla has announced that June 17 is the official date of the much-anticipated Firefox 3 release. Developers and open source software enthusiasts are planning parties all over the world to celebrate the occasion.
Mozilla is encouraging users to participate, too, by helping the Firefox team set the record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours. The total number of unique downloads that take place on release day will be submitted for potential inclusion in the Guinness World Records.

Still only see RC3 available, and it's 9am on the 17th here.
Not much of a jump on setting that record...

Actually, the record will be for 24hr peroid after release. Doesn't necessarily have to all happen on the 17th.
Can't you just feel the excitement?

I'm actually looking forward to FF3, but I'm afraid all my plugins aren't going to work anymore (Firebug, LiveHeaders, ect)
Isn't it available today?

There is already an updated version of FireBug and Developer for FF3. I already have them installed on RC3 and appear to work fine. I assume they will also work fine on FF3 Stable.
And yes, it's supposed to be released today sometime.

Thats a good marketing strategy from Mozilla. Chances are very high they would make the record. After all there are tons on Mozilla users.
