Many Free Turnkey Scripts

If you want to start a turnkey site, they have an Arcade script (Included is 150 games!), Myspace resource script, dating scripts, ringtone script, real estate scripts, jokes script and others.

Many of these I've only seen as pay scripts, I guess they're free now.

These scripts (some of them, at least) are copyrighted and NOT by the person giving them away. I recognize a few of them and know who owns them.

Me too. But I don't know if they're now free, people will have to look into whichever they decide to use.

I paid for the same joke script over a year ago.

They can be copyrighted and still be free.

That joke script and a few of the others are copyrighted and the owner does not allow them to be given away for free. They must be sold installed on a domain and are not sold with master resell rights. The copyright owner has been notified of the offending website.

I figured it must be fishy, it should be reported to the owners then.

I was a little pissed I had to pay for it then see it free now, glad to know that's not the case. Many turnkey sites resell those scripts with the sites they sell.

Do you know the original owner?

Yes and she has been notified. (I also paid for those scripts)

That "bad guy" is me, and for your information I purchased all scripts with resell rights (I have proof).

Hundreds visit my site daily and I've never had any complaints from owners. I find it rather sickening that I've spent my money purchasing scripts (paying more as its with resell rights), buying a large hosting account and giving them away free and people moan about it.

I can understand if you are the owner of a script and it's being given away without your consent, however perhaps the owners should take it up with the people that are selling the script with resell rights in the first place.

I don't mean to offend anyone, I just feel that the bad comments are unneccessary.

Well, now that you know that those scripts are protected by copyright and that they DO NOT come with resell rights, you should remove them from your website and get a refund from the person who sold them to you. Otherwise, it will become your problem as well.

yup, tough luck - you better stop operations...

it's like someone who fraudulently sells you resell rights to microsoft windows and you commence operations. now that microsoft knows about it and tells you to stop, you better stop. buying something from someone who doesn't hae the right to sell it in the first place doesn't give you the rights to the product.

I can buy Windows XP for $5 on the street in Moscow. That doesn't mean it's legal.
It's also not legal for me to turn around and give it away.

You will be, shortly. Trust me. I know the owner of some of the scripts and she DOES NOT allow resell rights on them. You should tell her where you bought them, so she can put a stop to it.

How would you feel if you created software and you were trying to sell it and someone you sold it to, just started giving it away?

haha - giving them away for free doesn't make it legal or OK. it's not yours to be given away in the first place.
