Adsense and Adwords Ranking?
~
Does Adsense affect page Ranking? What about Adwords Ad Rank?
Remember Google's use of link popularity in ranking?
What happened? People worked it - link farms all over the place!
Well people are working Adsense now. What is Adsense? Adsense is Adwords.
And people are also working Adwords as well. How?
Example, one of my sites "Content" consistently displays Adsense for $5-$7 keyword ads (based on Overture bids). But one guy using Adwords regularly sneaks in my Adsense with .05 to .10 cent Keyword (phrase) ads. How's that possible?
Well it's because the guy is smart and he thinks. My site's "Title" is 2 words, 1 of which is a Poison Word. My Poisoned Title is popular enough that Google lists it as a suggested additional phrase for a (the) Keyword to Adwords users. So, this guy uses my Title! But he does Not use my Content Keywords. His result - .10 cent ride on a $5.00 space.
My site ranking? Well it is buried under hundreds of higher ranking pages for most Content Keywords thanks to the Poison word. But it's always number 1 when the Poisoned Phrase (Title) is searched. Sound crazy? Well, the site averages 1,000 visitors a day and 14,000 page views. (Don't confuse Poison Words with Stopwords, Filter words or Bad words - that's another subject). Do the sites I rank above use Adsense? No, most of them do not. But, I ranked above them even before Adsense came along. Why? - maybe because my page Title and Description are Highly Relevant to users!
In Google search results your page Title and it's Description is your Ad! People see it and click on it or they see it and pass on bye! Remember - Your page Title and it's Description is your Ad - is yours Relevant or Irrelevant? But there's also a catch - your (displayed) description changes depending and based on the search query term used, in Google results and many other SE's.
Keep in mind that Adsense is Adwords. Adwords pay Google and Adsense pays you. People are working both.
How does Adsense affect page rank? Google won't tell. Here's a quote from Google on Adwords - think about it!
Google Adwords (Quoted from their "Program Comparison" in reference to ranking of Ads).
Ranking:
Rank is determined by combination of CPC and clickthrough rate. If an ad is irrelevant to users, they won't click on it and it will move down the page. Your relevant ads will rise, at no extra cost to you.
Your ad can rise above someone paying more if it is highly relevant for a specific keyword.
End quote.
Some of the above is proven or documented fact. Some of it is opinion based on theory.
Does Adsense affect page rank - maybe it does - maybe it doesn't. Who can dispute or prove either - Only Google!
"It's All About Results" (Google Trade-Mark slogan appearing atop their "Program Comparison" page).
What's your opinion?
