I think if the Clicksor is an alt to adsense you are fine, but I think they are not supposed to be on the same screen at the same time.

Google does not allow that. I've received their warning letters.

Google now allows you to have other ads on the page with their ads..... just not sure if clicksor does...

Or maybe because they're both contest based, they can't be? Still waiting to hear back from clicksor...

I though google did not want other ads in a similar format to adsense ads on your pages at the same time the adsense ads are there

Does it say that in their TOS?

Section 2 of their TOS
[code:1:2d11ce1845]You agree not to display on the same Web page in connection with which any Ad Unit, Ad, or Search Box is displayed (a "Results Page") any advertisement(s) that an end user of Your Site(s) would reasonably confuse with a Google advertisement or otherwise associate with Google. [/code:1:2d11ce1845]
https://www.google.com/adsense/localized-terms
So it's just not clicksor type ads, its any type of text link advertising that could look like Googles Adsense.

Ahh..., ok... good to know. Thanks. You can have them both on the same website, though... just not the same webpage?

just not on the same page at the same time. (at least that is how I interpret it)
thus clicksor could make good alternative ad code for when your adsense ads do not show up

I wouldn't suggest using alt ad code on AdSense unless Clicksor pays at a decent rate. From my own experience google has 2 different type of default ads, page specific and site specific. If google cant find ads for a particular page it puts themed ads for your site. But if you specify default ad code and google can't find links to put up on a page then it shows your default ad code, it never tries to put up site default ads.
On one of my sites in particular the ratio is something along the lines of
70% - page specific links
28% - site specific links
2% - defualt ads
So if I was to specify a default ad code, I would only get the 70% page specific ads shown and my default code would be shown the other 30% of the time. Now this isn't something that is documented by google, but Ive tested it out on multiple sites and have come to the same conclusions on each site.
Personally, I don't mind showing those few default ads because nothing can make up for the revenue google provides on the 28% site specific ads it shows.

I don't know the exact statistics, but my observation also agrees with his theory.
My site used to show very little PSA. But when I specify alt ads, those alt ads show up a whole lot more than the PSA used to.

I ran tests for 3 days on two different occasions, tracking which ads were viewed depending on if there were default ads or not. Those numbers are not static in any way, they are an average of the various pages on my sites and change as the number of advertisers within my niche change on AdWords. Each site and page will have different numbers but the general theory is sound I believe.

Since I run a forum, would it maybe be a good idea to have the adsense ads on the viewtopic.tpl, and clicksor on viewforum.tpl or something?

I would suggest not using Clicksor as a default, but using them on the front page of the forum isn't an issue. I would even suggest using standard banners from cj or another affiliate program (or sell space yourself) instead of Adsense or the like on your homepage. The main page of forums never change, which means the ads (if they are at all relevant) will never really change and it is a waste of an ad spot I believe. Topic pages I think work well with adsense, clicksor etc. But the main forum page would be better off with regular ads.

I work closely with the clicksor network, and I know for a fact that now you can run Clicksor and Adsense together. This is a recent change
