Adsense Advice?

Are there any books or websites out there that give advise on optimizing Adsense?
Placement, color, how to's, etc.

Experiment a little, and you will get best answers yourself.
In my opinion a good website design helps visitors to stay longer, and thus increase your chances of higher CTR.

Experimentation is best way to go cos the results are very bizzar. In my experience the same content pages with deferent designs vary in click through rates of from 0.05% to a massive 2%.

All I can confirm from my experience is that fixed width page with a right hand skyscraper 600h 60w does best.

Highest click through rate will be generated by the largest adsense size, above the fold with no border, white background on a white page and blue links. That's been my experience anyway, I haven't completely tested it.

The FOLD is overated now cos its an old concept (For those who dont know the Fold was originally named for newspapers Where the advert would be above where people fold the paper in half on the old style stands. It is used on websites via the visible area on a 800x600 resolution and now 1024x768 in the UK) The tipcal top right banners get very few clicks.

However a side banner outside the 800x600 fold but inside the 1024x768 works best and at the footer again bellow the fold works for me!

I am currently experimenting my hypothesis that white text on a dark BG results in greater clicks! I shall post the results in 2 weeks time in the private forum of v7.

I am sure that the banner on http://www.vw-camper-van-hire.co.uk/ users may think it is a link to content on your site thus you get $200 a month for it... fair enough if you want the money, but its driving customers away from your product? I advice you put more content on all your pages.
