Google Adsense

Hi Everyone,

I have just joined so please excuse me if I trod over any rules! I am trying to find some answers to 2 questions:

1.
I can see the Google adsense adwords on a website - but only on 1 of my 2 computers. I wonder whether anybody could tell me whether the display of adsense adwords is dependant on the settings of a user's computer?

2.
Does Google allow adwords to be display on a coloured background? I am thinking of signing up for adsense and placing the adwords in a navy blue cell.

(1) The adsense ads are displayed using javascript so they won't display if the browser has javascript turned off.

(2) You can choose your own color scheme the for adsense ads.

Hmm! I am trying to turn javascript on ... but can't locate the feature!
I'm using IE5 5.50 and Windows 98 (1st edition) on this computer.
Can anyone help?

If I'm not mistaken, it would be in the Internet Options, Security tab, try changing the Internet zone settings, there are Java and Scripting options. Set them to your preferences.

I've found they often don't work on my PC in the office, but will display when I try them on other machines on the network.

Might be if the machines are on the same IP address it only allows so many adverts to be displayed in a period of time, say 5 adverts to the same IP within a minute for example. I am however purely guessing.

Then again, might just be that I need a flashy new P4 3Ghz machine....now to convince the boss!

Forgot to add, you can control the colours now pretty well - seen some really well integrated ones around although you still have the "Ads by Google" link which gives it away.

Adsense allows you to control the color scheme entirely. I wish that they could figure out a way to funnel your adsense earnings into your adwords advertiser account. That would eliminate alot of hassle.
