I have given my to #4. It gives enough space for absence and is located at proper positions for easy navigation. Hands up this contestant.

works for me too.
remember everyone, it's not "best design"... it's best intergration, as in "I can't tell what is ads and what is content/menus/etc."

Well you would think that " Integration Contest" would explain things...
no where does it say "Design Contest".

People don't read. They just look at the pretty pictures.

I'm bassakwards - I viewed these in reverse order and WOW when I got to #1 it was definitely the #1 for integration - you had to really look for the ads; very well done!
In all a few stood out, but this one stood up (above the rest)!

Well #1 has tooooooooooo much content.. if you junk pile the content on, it will hide the ads..
It just had so much junk it distracts from the text and you just over look everything. If it were not for the image of the bike, I wouldn't have know what the site was about. So yeah, I didn't see ads but I didn't see anything else either.. just the image.
#4 reminded me the most of W3Schools, and I believe W3Schools does it the best... The ads are nested above, to the right, and on the bottom! not in the content.
When I click on an ad and I didn't want to, I close all windows. Plane and simple, see something I don't like and kick everyone that's conected to it!

dcole... that was the point of the contest... to make it blend so much as to confuse and get more hits. you just pointed out why number 1 is exactly what the contest is about... being able to "see" the ads, was not the idea here.
we were never talking about great design, it was always about hiding the ads... ie "intergration".
but everyone is welcome to vote for whatever reason they want... that's the point of giving you are an option to select one. v7n is about freedom.

Safari, same as always.
I've never seen an AdSense skyscraper overlay the content like that before!

well it's just that everthing is hard to see... it's like #1 made me look for a needle in a hay stack in the dark after sending me 10 miles away and dropping me in poison oak. Then sending bees after me, along with police dogs... I would rather shoot the person who sent me on this mission and forget about everything (aka the website, so I wouldn't even click on the ads)
I could try to find a link which would probly be an ad, or I could take the easiest path and click the backbutton.
I'm sorry, My teachers have made it so, that I can only see the big pic. It's like 1+1=2... what's the cube root of 74? btw, you have 30 secs and you have to do it long hand! Has anyone done rooting long hand? I have, yep, FUN! I must say that it can get any better than that!

I voted number 1 because I didn't immediately see which ones were ads and which were genuine content. Great job!

Since this was an integration contest, I voted for number 1. Very good integration of the ads into the content to the point they almost disappear.

The inability to participate as a contestant doesn't negate the ability to particpate as a voting member .... did you remember to vote at least?
