lfcfan is on the right pathlfcfan is on the right path
The PPC mainly depends on 2 things.

1. What type of website is that?

Arcade games website, you tube videos or other embeded videos website, Blogs or website which just contains images can easily get 100´s of visitors per day and with bit of tweaking one can get 5-10% CTR. But the PPCs are low for these kind of websites. One has to be happy with the over all earning. Thats all.

2. Where your traffic is from?

That is another thing which can affect your earning........

G's smart pricing will breed smaller sites.

I think it's the opposite really. I think more mature sites get less per click. I can't be sure, but I have done a test on two websites with similar content. One was developed last year. When it first started I was getting about $1 per click. Now I have more traffic I am getting $.38 per click. The new site with similar content is getting $1.10 (on average). Ultimately, G's "smart pricing" will breed smaller sites with less content. Just my guess.

After pulling my hair out for 6 months running adsense ads on my one forum. Six months and only making about $200 is just ridiculous. I wonder if the per pay click even pays for the bandwidth their stupid bot uses. Anywho I was lucky a private company approached me about running a banner. We now sell 6 months packages for much more than Adsense ever paid out. In the end the banners pay for the hosting of the site, with a little extra for improvements down the road.

Adsense is really worthless IMHO. I run it on my blogs and a couple of photo sites, which admittedly don't have much traffic and make virtually nothing.

To me adsense is only good for:

Really large websites with tremendous amounts of traffic

or

Web Developers who have 100's of MFA sites.. Throw enough s**t on the wall something will stick.

-> adsense is too easy to set up, but pays very little
-> Affiliate network seems unreliable, and it is a lot of maintenance work to do

What else we are left with?

Seems like i had a great day today cos only 3 clicks got me $1.95... maybe its more about the advertisers bidding less for per click share now

My payout also seems higher today. I've got as many clicks as I have today which much lower results in the past. I think I may be getting better traffic though cuz much of it today is coming from Fox Sports (they linked one of my articles).

If it is a case of higher payouts lately... I wonder if it has anything to do with all those sites that got warnings they were going to be dropped from Adsense soon due to having MFA/crappy sites.

Yeah, I agree with you and that's annoying. I hardly can make $1 for 50 click - 50 click = $0.12 That is why I have a plan to remove google adsense from my website.

44 adsense clicks and only $1.38 is madness. I do not make that much in adsense but I make that amount in half of the clicks that you receive(and oh I do not receive that many clicks)

It is not surprising Mr.Scott, because for me it is a common thing to get one click from the adsense yielding as high as ONE CENT(?) FUNNY THINGS TOO HAPPEN ON EARTH!
