44 Adsense clicks $1.38

44 Adsense clicks for a total of $1.38, on an Adsense account we manage.

That's... pathetic.

Damn.. I also see the rates decreasing on one of my sites.

It's like 30 clicks on that site is worth one click on another.

It's really annoying - doing all that work to increase traffic, clicks and revenue. The traffic increased, the clicks increased, but the revenue drops.

Greedy bastards.

3 cents a click. Hardly seems worth it.

End users are hip to the ads now, plus there are so many bad built for adsense sites. Even some of the legit sites are over doing it a bit. I was going to offer ecommerce services and do once in a while. I had some content researched and written but I don't get hit for service mostly users seeking information. The clicks from this section of the site are profitable when they do come. I don't know how theses guys that are getting thousands of dollars each month are doing it.

First I base the payout of my clicks at x10 so 44 clicks should have pulled $4.40 or near to it.

For a crap payout like this, I would suspect a number of things.

Some moron is clicking your ads as if it was a pop-up that wouldn’t go away and is probably trying to get you banned. If this is the case then Google is doing a good job in seeing what ones are the invalid clicks. You could setup code to track which IP is clicking on which ads and that should give you an idea if you have a moron on your hands. I think Shawn (DP) posted on his Blog some code that can track it through Google Analytics or there is various other scripts out there that can help.

You could have too many ads being served on the page and the low paying ones are the majority being served and clicked on. If you do have all three Ad blocks and txt links then disable one or two ad blocks.....I had to do this for one of my topics.

Your topic (I am guessing SEO here) may not be a great performer - I don’t as do not have any SEO or webmaster sites so I couldn’t say if this is the actually case. One way to find this out is compare your payouts from other days, weeks etc and if you have an Adwords account then use it to figure out how much bids are for specific terms matching your ads. In addition, ask people in the same market as you that you can trust to give you an honest answer….probably a good few members on here.

Google is not telling you the truth and is pocketing the cash and I really don’t think that would be the case.

I would also suggest checking out each site that is being served on your adsense (without clicking the ad of course). What you can determine is if the site would bring value to your visitor that just clicked your ad and decide if you should block them through your account settings - downfall about this though you could end up blocking a high paying site. You can only test and learn with this suggestion.

Do you have 'Advertise on this site' on your ads? If so test without it.

I am not an Adwords user but maybe that now we are coming up to the end of the month there is a slow down on specific campaigns by the larger companies which means we get lower payouts. The smaller companies who make smaller bids have a better chance of being served onto our pages. I haven’t tested or proved this idea but it’s just a thought on passing.

Or to make a long story short, just sit on it and see if it improves over the next few days.

Sorry this was a rushed post as I am in the middle of making pizza.

What do you think, in your personal opinion, that the real split is between Google and Account Owner?

If you have to take a guess would you say:

Google 70%
Account Holder 30%

That's exactly why I stay away from Adsense.

44 Clicks yields at least 1 sale for me in my affiliate market of at least $15 commission.

I'm curious, can I see your site where you get 1 sale per 44 clicks? (thats about 2% conversion rate, nice!).

Google is like Russian Roulette, it shoots out of 6 times and only one shot will hit you (consider the bullet a big-time advertiser)

I use Chitika which is the best right now for most sites, a click is usually $0.09or $0.15, which is pretty nice! I'm happy I got banned from AdSense

Pozzy is liked by many
I've heard that a lower CTR will generate higher paying clicks. It seems to be true for me, but I can't really guarantee it's validity.

I think it's the opposite, why would companies who have low CTR recieve high-paying adverts and high CTR sites be punished by getting low-paying adverts?

Not sure, anyone else feel the same?

If I use adsense, I usually get $1-$2 per click.

About the same in YPN as well. It all depends on the market.
