Chart of Adsense Earnings

I finally got around to making a chart of my adsense earnings. I find it interesting how much it goes up and down every month. Especially when my sites visits, page views and clicks don't change that much at all.

At least it's trending the right direction overall. My goal this year was to try to reach $1,000 per month but I seem to have stalled out just below $700 a month.

This chart is from Jan, 2004 to July, 2006. For the most part at first I had only one ad unit at the bottom of my pages. Then in Sept 04 I decided to try to put one leader board at the top of my forum and see if the members rebelled. But no one said a word. I stopped at that for about a year and didn't try to effect the total earnings until Oct of 2005. I already had my ads blended well, so all I did in October was increase the number of units and the number of pages with ads.

Now, I'm looking for the next big bump as in Sept, 04 and Oct, 05.

Yeah. You have a good trend going there. It's hard to be patient, and not overdo the ads. Have you tried putting a small image in rotation just in front of the top-ad? It will probably double or triple your earnings.

Actually, yes, I have a bar of 4 photos that are random ads from my classifieds section about the top Google leader board.

Recently I put a link unit at the top of the page and this actually increased earning by $3 to $4 a day.

On a good month I seem to earn $20+ a day and a bad month (like Aug) I seem to get about $17.50 a day. As I said, my goal is to reach $33 a day average.

Google CPC and other payment things are really weired. Some month you think that you are doing great visitors wise but you find out that you are not doing well in adsense. And some other months, its just vice versa.
