Adsense going downhill?
... OK, I am going to try my best to not violate googles TOS, but was wondering if other people shared my problem...
The thing is, the amount per click seems to have dropped dramatically, for example.. last september for 16 clicks I got $12.76, but now for 19 clicks I'm only getting $1.76 - now what are peoples opinions on this, was google just being generous when I/They started up, and has matured into a low payout type of system, or .. well what do you guys think?
thought i might mention theyre the same type of ads, so i would assume the price for advertisers has remained pretty much the same, maybe google is just taking more?
Thanks for anyones opinions btw...

I don't find this. In fact just the opposite.
My earning per click since the very begining is 53.1 cents.
My earnings per click for February, as of today, are 69.4 cents.
My clicks per day all time is 9.3.
My February clicks per day is up to 15.5.
So AdSense is working like a house on fire for me so far this month.

My earnings go up and down randomly, I don't think too much of it.

I think its a product of advertisers realizing the acutal turnover for clicks/sales is much lower than they initally thought, hoped, expected.
I have seen less advertisers and a lower $ per click ever since the second month into the program. I have been in the program since June of last year.

Depending no the topic of interest and how much those advertisers are paying google is why your payment varies.
I know certain keywords you can max out for only the minimum (5cents/visitor) while others you would be lucky to get 5 visits it's so crowded.
Here's some insight, if my revenue would double I could live off adsense alone.. I wouldn't be rich but it would be possible.

No, but I am continueing my path of developing websites. I have churned out one in 1 week 100% Programmed & Designed by me.. URL will be mentioned when it opens.. hopefuly Friday in time for VDAY.
Everything I have learned I apply to my new sites, and existing ones to help earn more money. I have sites ranging from 1 to over 1k uniques a day, but what's funny is the ones I get most $ from are sites with 100-200 visitors... the content is just that much more important/valued.
By 2005 I plan to be 100% living off my "web" income.. we shall see... we shall see...

You might lose it all if you keep posting your details - no joke (its against TOS)
You get cheques at the end of each year or about a month after you reach 100$.
You dont lose your payments they just carry on to the next month

I just checked February's results and for some reason both my click through rate and my earnings per day have doubled this month over my hsitorical average.
BTW I have been using AdSense since July 2003.

Ive found the exact same thing happening.
From August until December I was doing very well with AdSense but from January Ive been receiving very little, sometimes even less than a dollar a day even though the number of impressions and clicks have been MORE than previous months.
Things did start to pick up this month and I managed to make over $20. You might think thats not too bad but ... I had over 100 clicks on that day, my highest ever since joining.
Compared to last year when I made over $90 in ONE DAY from just 30 clicks, getting just $20 from over 100 is really quite bad IMO.

Check adwords for bids, and remember Nov/Dec will get you the most $$ from the holidays, and companies spending every last lil bit on advertising to use as a tax write-off.
On some keyword sites I make very little like you but 100 clicks that's insane to only be getting $1

ah thats a ogod point (tax write-offs) - its just so frustrating to be getting $2 for 20 clicks one day, and $10 for 30 clicks the next lol
