Adsense, not making "Sense"

I have had an adsense account for a few weeks now. The only pages that i have the advertisements on is my blogs at blogger. I have actually done pretty well with these sites, however some weird things happen sometimes, just wondering if anyone else has seen this before....

some times i will get only 100 impressions but a lot of clicks, other times i will get 300-400 impressions but zero clicks...

On those times that i get a lot of impressions but no clicks i still have some earnings in my account for that day, usually like $.01-.03 cents. again there are no clicks just earnings....

You DO get a small amount just for views... thats why BIG traffic helps..

I never knew you got a small amount just for views... Is this a recent change, or as it always been that way?

Does it go by page loads or by unique visitors?

There are some advertisers that pay per impression and even more that pay-per impression for your specific site. If you have a popular site you will notice that your earnings can fluctuate noticably, since that advertiser is targeting your specific blog.

As far as I know it's always been this way.

is there a tool to find out which advertisers are paying per impression, or how much they are paying? I have been using overture to find out around how much my adsense adds are getting me, i know it is not exact but it seems to be close. Is there a tool like this to find out per impression?

it makes me feel uncomfortable when I see more clicks than impressions. Makes me think someone is opening all the ad links in separate tabs. sometimes it's really bad though. I had double clicks one time.

The most accurate thing to do in any situation as far as tracking your ads is to use custom channels. If you want to know exactly which ads producing the most clicks, and on which page, each ad will need it's own unique channel.

I have found out the if you are displaying image ads that those tend to be ppi more than text ads. Text ads and link units seem to pay alot more on my sites.

There are ways of tracking the ppi ads as well, if you are interested, I'd be glad to walk you through the process of tracking them.

It is the easiest thing in the world but it need time and little money.
You can do it for free but it will take more time.
Just take top popular 20 websites with the same content with your site, check where they placed backlinks using backlink checker tools, and try to put your website links in the same places.
Backlink checking tools you can find: www.iwebtool.com or www.domain-pop.com
