What is your best Adsense tip?

Hi,

I am always asked "what is your best Adsense tip?". Here is my five best and most important Adsense tips:

- Less internal and external links on the page
- Having the ads with the same background color as the page background
- Having ad links color blue (the default color of hyperlinks in html)
- Having one leaderboard 728 x 90 text ad at the top and one at the bottom of the page
- Having one 300x250 text ad at the middle of the page somewhere among texts
- Well optimized pages with a good title, description, <h1> headline and ... .

Can you add more tips?

Some of your tips are also my tips.

* always put a link unit on the page. Square link units with 4 links work best for me. Great CTR

* good content pages have great CTR and pays best.

* If you can enable image ads. Square formats permit the video ads. This will be the future...

* If you have many pages, put adsense on every page that doesn't go against adsense TOS.

* the ad title should always be the same color as the site's link color. You can try diferent templates for the ad changing only the link color.

image ads are not the solution , they pay less than text ads , that's why usually when you set up an adsense block , may it be leaderboard or skyscrapper or whatever and use the Text and images option , you can only see text ads usually . Well , that's because adsense is always trying to display the best paying ads . So , image ads pay less => not the same profit for you ,try just blending ads in .

The best adsense block are :

396 x 280 large
300 x 250 inline
160 x 600 skyscrapper

The tip to enable image ads was given by the adsense team on Google University that I had the luck to be invited, check here: http://www.contentadsguide.com/2006/...y-in-portugal/

Enabling image ads will enable video ads that is the future... I wonder I google bought youtube.com, maybe has something to do with that...

And yes, you can have image and text ads on your blocks, and thinking of this sentence : "adsense is always trying to display the best paying ads" if images show....then they are better than text ads on that moment

Google tries to place the best ads each time, but sometimes the best advertisers budget don't last long... and you may return 4 or 5 times to the same page, and you don't see the same ads each time...

My best adsense tip is, dont rely on adsense as your sole means of income for your site. Its important to diversify your sites income streams just as you would a portfolio of stocks.

Because if you get banned then what?

My best tip:

Don't rely on one site for adsense earnings...

my adsense earnings come from an entertainment site with high traffic but low click value and a financial site with medium traffic and medium click value.

The two combined create a nice second income, without one or the other, my earnings would be pretty crap

take ads off your pages with the worst click through ratio to raise the overall click through ratio of the site and increase earnings or at least use channels and pay attention to these things

you aren't payed by CTR, or have I missed something.

Instead you might be loosing money from CPM ads.

Do Not make any massive changes to adsense channels or layout in a short course of time (say, in a day two). Make your changes gradual (spread over a period of weeks or months)

The best Adsense tip ever is not to cheat their system. The is the main and best adsense tip you can have.

Other than that, good placement of ads and blending the ads into your sites content.
