Anyone know how AdSense populates ads?

Is it from on page content? Or is it from in bound links?

I'm getting a little confused as to why some types of ads are populating, or not populating, on some of my pages.

I believe it is a combination of things. Filepath, page title, page content, and linkage data. Some people say site theme is also important.

I have been told that filepath and page title were usually really important, but I have not done tons of testing.

I also think page content usually outweighs link stuff for the adsense because one time I remeber seeing ads for stuffed toy bears in a seo forum.
