Advertising Idea - Need Opinions
I'm currently going to be hosting a widget for internet marketers. On the pop-up from the widget, there is room for advertisements (sponsors, affiliates, etc.) and now I'm wondering if I've got a great idea, or if I'm doing something that isn't up to par with typical standard paid internet advertising.
Here's the idea...
I combine three advertising methods: microbuttons with CPM for "in view" ads, microbuttons with CPC for ads not visible without scrolling, and monthly ads that are significantly larger and also in plain view.
(P) Assumed CPC: 35 cents
(C) Assumed CTR: 0.5%
(A) Actual CTR: variable
(T) Traffic from Last Month
(W) Actual Traffic: variable
(I) # Months Insurance: up to 6 months in that place can be reserved.
(F) # Features: animations, high contrast, javascript, and flash.
(D) Discount for Members: 15 cents
(DD) Discount for Promoting the Widget: 4
(R) Our Rating: based on strength of back link
Member CPM Ads: (P-D)*C*W per Week
Member CPC Ads: (P-D)*A*W per Week
Member Monthly Ads: (P-D)*C*T*(30/7)*1.1^(I+F-DD*R) per Week
There will be a total of 2 widgets within this next year. I can't give out any details on what exactly it is, but I've got a lot of potential customers and low competition. That's why I'm stoked for this project.
Let me know if something needs work, you would like clarification on the formulas, or if you have better ideas you'd like to share. I'm all ears!
