So was there any reason why it didn't pass early on?

The price tag and the questionable morality of it.

what was the house thinking the senate said no and they were right to, the only reason the house said yes is because they offered them 150 billion dollars in tax cuts

Vote out every person that voted yes to the bailout.
Where is my government money when things gets tight for my business?
This "bailout" crap should have been stopped when the airlines cried wolf some years ago.

Personally, I think as marketers we should think of ways to profit from this.

Think about it.. everyone's going to want a piece of that $700 Billion, so we set up AdSense based sites saying the Government is planning on giving a portion of it as free money back to the tax payers and you provide some information on the bailout with AdSense wrapped around it.

I'm just thinking like a marketer though. As a politician.. I really don't care, and I think it's just the government throwing their weight around because if the big companies they give tax breaks too aren't rich anymore, then that means they lose money.

not to mention that unions have ruined the american auto industry. people buy foreign cars for a reason, quality. their japanese counterparts aren't bogged down by the endless demands of an auto union that demand higher pay but produce crap for automobiles. now michigan wants $50 billion of tax payer money to save an inferior product that no one wants.

Would not have changing the accounting to a 3 yr rolling average done the same thing instantly?
