I'd like to know what countries consider that a compliment.

I thought throwing a grenade was seen as a severe insult.

They'll take a bullet, but not a shoe.

I was thinking the same thing. They are apparently not trained in taking shoes.

Say, do you have some counter about how many times President Bush experienced this?
If that was the first, I might doubt it's SCRIPTED.

I did see what appeared to be another reporter trying to intervene. It actually might have been like a pitching coach talking about follow through and release points.

Hmm.. yes, I suspect that there is additional physics to consider in proper shoe throwing as opposed to baseball and such.

Putin would have caught the shoe, and threw it back at the guy. Then walked over the reporter, body slammed him and then beat the poor guy to a bloody pulp.

It's a sign of disrespect in Iraq. They throw their shoes at the person when they disrespect them. They do this, because to them the foot is the dirtiest place on the body.

Is their any countries that would not consider it a severe insult? It's definitely not a compliment. Would have been funnier to see him slapped round the face with a big wet fish though.

The shoe throwing thing seems harmless enough, but let us not forget about the eyes and groin.

I don't think that they should have beat the guy up like they purportedly did, I think that a minor ruffing up may have been appropriate, none of this broken ribs stuff.

I think the guy deserves a medal and a holiday in his honor. Tyrants deserve a lot more then to have a shoe thrown at them, but if that is all the poor guy had, then so be it.

Sic semper tyrannis - thus ever to tyrants.

president bush is the worst president this nation has ever had. Through his control the USA has been brought to the verge of bankruptcy, while our trade deficit is at its highest levels ever. bush ordered that a sovereign nation be invaded, the leader of that nation executed and the people of that nation are supped to be happy about it?

Not to mention that inflation is at its highest levels in decades. The federal reserve is printing money out of thin air, which leads to hyper inflation.

I am surprised that the people of this nation are not throw rocks every time bush shows his face in public.

The Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at US President George W Bush has apologised to Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki, the prime minister's office says.

Seriously, I can't make this any more obvious for you guys, without reminding you of certain aspects in which British culture will always be superior to the USA's.
