Thanks for this imput and turning this dual into a three man fight.
Harrison is still wining but Bush is not far behind and Ford just jumped into the picture.
How exciting?!

Something tells me that GWB is going to win, even without a majority of votes.
He's proven that he doesn't need it.

I'd settle with a tie between Harrison and Bush. ^

we should have them run a little country together as a tv-reality show.
that would be entertaining.

Perhaps Harrison should be regarded as 'Macho Guy' not 'dumb guy'.....today going out side in sub-freezing weather with shorts on and no coat is becoming a sign of male virility....

you could extend this idea with: not being cold in cold weather means you have a lot of hair (virility again).
Which also means you are closer to a monkey than a president of USA.
Well, we all saw the pic with Bush and the monkeys (similar expression/faces).
A modern monkey I would say.

For the record:
Pneumonia isn't caused by going outside without a coat on, or IQ. It's caused by virus infection.

If I had to choose, I'd choose George W. Bush.
I really don't think we had a dumb President though.
Maybe just an individual that wasn't ready or fit to lead the Free World.

That's true and it is still disputed that there was any causal relationship, although extremes of cold and heat can cause immune deficiencies.
So that seems to leave Bush...

I don't think there is any leader in history who was both excessively stupid and caused so much unwanton death and mayhem at the same time....

I'm not American... but growing up I seem to recall a lot of people making fun of Jimmy Carter as being a bit dim witted.
The last year or so of Reagan's term in office could probably qualify too.. if you define a President with Alzheimers and consulting psychics as 'dumb'
No president in my living memory (since Nixon) has come across as a low IQ illiterate the way GWB managed to so many times though.
But I wouldn't call him the dumbest... just the worst I know of.

Well if part of the criteria put forward by the OP is the soonest to die in office. Who was the second shortest term? Didn't Kennedy die of lead poisoning? Not too bright of him.
Put Kennedy on the list

I bet you Kennedy didn't drink lead to be "tough".
Unless Harrison got Nervous and drank to be brave, there is no reason why you shouldn't wear clothes when it's freezing out. Ask a three year old, he knows that.

President tries to enter through the window. What a complete idiot! He must be the dumbest president in history! I just can't believe the stupidity of this guy! Like - OMG!!
Oh wait - no... it wasn't Bush, it was Obama.
Nevermind... nothing to see here... move along...it was Bush's fault for moving the window... yea... that's the ticket... Bush's fault.
President Barack Obama's rookie mistake? Approaches Oval Office window instead of door

I think that some of the statements Carter has made would qualify him to be a contestant in this race as well. His latest decision to become a political advisor for one of the largest terrorist groups on earth does not make him look any better either.

Lincoln.
He was at once a heroic defender of individual rights, and murderous SOB who killed more Americans than any other president came close to.
At 625,000 dead, he makes both Bushes look like pathetic under-achievers.
