Capitalism is one of the worst religions of all.
It is the worship of money.

I suggest you withdraw from it. Which pretty much means you wont be posting any longer. Write us from Cuba.

I've been following your posts for a while now and I pretty much agree
with whoever it was who called you an arse.

As for if I hate capitalism ...
it's the only game in town.

What I hate is that the game is rigged.

and the dollar sign should be added to the great/not-so-great religious symbols of the world. Which, after all, was the point of my original post.

It's not the only game in town. Maybe the only one that works, but I mentioned Cuba for a reason. A country which rejected capitalism 50 years ago. Easy to tell, by the 50 year old cars and almost complete lack of anything invented less than 50 years ago.

Move there! It's a great bastion of un-capitalist society. As is North Korea. As a matter of fact, it can be shown quite easily that the less a country is involved in capitalism, the more suffering there is in that country.

I think Bush royally screwed up a once great nation.

His greed and perverted lust for power made the world frown upon the land of oppertuinity.

yea put him on trial

Imagine if, in his greed and lust for power, Bush had ordered a change the military oath so that all branches of the military had to swear allegiance to George Bush, and not the Constitution as they have for the past 200+ years. Just imagine the outcry.

Would that be justification for impeachment? Just wondering

George Bush attended a high school basketball game today in Waco
and from what I can tell he was warmly received.

Yeah, that's got absolutely nothing to do with a US enforced trade embargo that apparently even has the power to seize property and funds from non-US businesses that deal with Cuba, thanks to the Helms Burton act...
So their economic collapse actually has very little to do with internal Communist policy (other than being the root cause, as the government took control over all private business, some of which were US owned, hence the creation of the blockade in the first place) and everything to do with the US literally preventing ANY international economic activity from happening. Because, you know, a small island economy really has all the resources to have a functioning modern society without any kind of international trade

That is, in effect, just what Bush did....and there was no outcry...

Supporters of Castro often blame a US embargo on the glaring fact that socialism, marxism, whatever you choose to call it is a miserable failure. The fact of the matter is, it's a miserable failure because socialism doesn't work. The embargo didn't cause Castro to outlaw private business ownership, freeze wages, prohibit it's people from buying cars, homes, or selling their products on the open market, or turn the country into one giant concentration camp, where the prisoners are not free to leave or elect a new leader. Castro did.

Eric Holder has been confirmed by 71 votes in the senate as Attorney General in the Obama Administration. This is making some Republicans very nervous. Holder has come out a stated flately that "waterboarding is torture" in opposition to both Gonzales and Mukasey, the two previous AGs under GW Bush.

Prior to his confirmation, certain Republicans in apparent fear of the rule of law attempted to hold up proceedings unless Holder answered their question...would he or would he not prosecute those involved in torture of prisoners?....Imagine that....

Quote:
The question Republicans want answered before Holder is confirmed: Will you prosecute those who took part in that torture?

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) said that he would block committee proceedings, scheduled to resume at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, if he did not receive answer from Holder. "I'm not going to allow things to proceed," he said. He added that it was "physically impossible" for Holder to get the answers to him by then, thus assuring a conflict would ensue.
Republicans had it good as long as there was a Gonzales or a Murkasey calling the shots....but those days appear to be over.

Update: Karl Rove appears to have agreed to cooperate with the subpeona concerning the firing of 9 justices for political reasons....
