Apparently the OP is incoherent to questioning, for whatever reason/s. I therefore put this question to anyone.
Question: How many superpower countries currently exist in the world?

People has been predicting China to become the super power since about 20 years, and all we've seen so far has been an industrial/economic growth, but no big breakthrough other than that. I suppose they need a huge politic change (in both internal and foreign matters) to become the super power they are supposed to be.
I might add Brasil, since they are politically ready, and their economy has been rapidly growing over the last few decades.

I guess that is why the USA backs down from China? When China threatened to Nuke Los Angeles if the USA interfered with Taiwan, the president of the USA sat down and shut up just like he was told.
There is no asking who will be the next super power, china already is the worlds largest super power.
Free trade as sucked manufacturing plants out of the USA and sent them China. If a "real" war ever broke out, the USA lacks the ability to even make a computer, dvd player, steel to make ships with, or factories to make motors with.
There is no way the USA or any other nation in the world could stand up to china. While the chinese government builds the worlds largest bomb shelters, the USA can not even keep their roads and bridges repaired.

I'm hoping the next world superpower is humanity itself.
With the power of the internet, if organized properly, we can defeat the will of any single nation state.

I'm going to say China. Whereas the United States is deeply in debt (more than $700 billion owed to China alone), China is building a savings. Financially they are better off than the U.S.

I will go for India. Time will come when it will ahead of all. But China will create first change then after India will overtake it.

However, China is surviving based off exports to the United States in Trade Pact. If we break that pact, and stop imports from China, China will collapse as well as the United States.

Militarily I would say only the USA Atom.
Economically, I would say only the US as well, but that is open to debate with the US in hock to the Chinese so heavily and the recent financial problems.
If Europe were a single entity, I would add them to the short list, but they are too busy fighting themselves still. A federal Europe is an impossibility at this stage.
While China and India are getting closer, I still think it will take more time, perhaps another 20 - 30 years.
Ultimately it will depend on who can secure a steady long term energy supply, as to which super powers will continue/emerge in the future. The oil is running out, no more than 50 years supply left.

As far as superpowers go, militarily is all that counts, the economy is a different subject.
Think a moment about what actually constitutes a superpower, logically. The US is certainly not the worlds only superpower.

Extending the fist is ultimately about finances.
The Russians are still a force, but I don't think they could be categorized as a superpower any more.
Who else did you have in mind?

How many nukes do you suppose it would take to decimate an entire country, say, the size of England?

It depends on the yield. But only a handful, hence the UK has and maintains a submarine fleet armed with nuclear missiles, capable of striking anywhere in the world.
If you equate superpower with nuclear weapons, how would you categorize Pakistan, it is pretty much a third world state in many respects, yet it possesses nuclear missile capabilities. I certainly wouldn't call Israel, France, the UK superpowers, even though the latter have very sophisticated military capabilities, their sizes mean they cannot extend those capabilities globally, certainly not in the same way as the US.

So, the UK could wipe out the US, but the UK is not a super power? That doesn't make sense.

I'd say that Russia is still a superpower without a doubt. I'd like to know how many superpowers currently exist in the world, because I'm curious about this, I don't actually know the answer.

Nuclear weapons don't make a superpower in my opinion.

'Wipe out the US', is an exaggeration. Certainly inflict damage.
I think what this discussion requires is a definition of what is meant by the term 'superpower'. I think it is a combination of stability of government, scientific achievement, economic might and security, industrial capacity, military strength and reach, ...
It is as much about the development of a nation as it is about it's military capability. The UK no longer has the global reach, or the financial muscle, or industrial capacity. Perhaps in the past when Britain still had an Empire, say before the second world war, it was The world Superpower, but not any more.

If they don't, then nothing does. This is reality. This is what determines a world superpower, I don't know what else to say. Anything else is a different subject. . We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Not by any stretch of the imagination is it an exaggeration. I don't think that most people actually can envision the result if all missiles were launched simultaneously, and you don't appear to be an exception. That's ok though, we'll just agree to disagree on this too. No worries.
