Feds Freeze Online Poker Bank Accounts

An advocacy group for online poker said Tuesday that the federal government has frozen more than $30 million in the accounts of payment processors that handle the winnings of thousands of online poker players. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,525708,00.html

Are the feds just freezing accounts? Or, will prosecutions follow? What happens to the money? I am a bit confused here. If you and I can legally gamble offline in those areas where it is legal. What changes online? What if the servers were in a legal area? Would it be any different than someone visiting a casino in that area? Or, is this political, over unreported winnings?

They tend to arrest people who operate overseas but still accept US business. Draconian if you ask me.

I'm confused by this. I was under the impression that gambling was illegal in the US (over the internet)
In the town i live in we have some type of internet gambling where you buy coupons (or something) and you can bet them. If you win, you get more coupons.

(I'll just tape out on this issue)
