Pubs and clubs are suffering due to the smoking ban as well as people being skint. Shame it is.

With a name like "Fat Burger", people are probably better off.

LOL Zap. Fat Burger is my favorite fastfood store because they use fresh instead of frozen ingredients. I don't eat it often but it's very good.
I hope Subway will stay in business, because it is another favorite of mine when we don't want to cook.
What is your favorite Zap?

For burgers in the fast food realm, I think Wendy's is probably closest tasting and feeling like real hamburger meat.
However, up here in Canada, we're lucky enough to have a franchise called Harvey's.
They make an awesome burger.
And, non-franchise, there's a local place called " Apache Burger" which has been in the same location for years and years and they make a pretty good burger too.
My job, unfortunately, forces me to eat on the run almost every weekday.

I know what you mean by running almost every day, I did that in Paris for a long time. I am trying to stay away from the big cities. When I first came here in Henderson It was fantastic, half desert, half town, something not too small not too big. I was able to see coyotes, and roadrunners but not anymore.
Unfortunately years after years the beauty of the desert is replaced by heavy constructions, new freeways, more people, etc That's why I don't want to live in Las Vegas.
Now it seems like there is more people leaving Vegas than people moving in, followed by franchise store, casino, real estate bankruptcies.
Anyway it will take a lot of time to recover this economic crisis.

LOL The fries are not diet food ;-)
The food is not healthy here, meat with hormones, etc should be forbidden!
I took some extra pounds living in US, and It is very difficult to grow a garden here in Nevada, so we need to buy some expensive vegetables and fruits and that reduce the choices. There are a lot of things I cannot buy in US too because it is not available.
I miss going in the market place to buy fresh products on Sunday as I did in France, if someone know what I am talking about. It is a French tradition I loved to practice.

i guess there must be some kind of french grocery ( as we can find american grocery in paris) but products probably are overpriced

The French food here is overpriced, I remember to find a "traiteur" in San Fransisco selling merguez at $5 each lol no way!
It took me 2 full days to shop around Las Vegas to get the ingredients and make them myself ;-)
