If they think for a minute that I am going to
just give them $750 for no good reason, they are sorely mistaken!
I am sick and tired of the government forcing me to do this or do that to help an industry! First they require that I buy auto insurance before I can even license and register my vehicle. Last year alone I paid $455.00 for the state minimum insurance (less than many pay per year now that I can get that AARP discount) and I didn't use it once!
I am a professional truck driver, I have more than 300,000 accident-free miles under my belt just driving semi trucks (I've
never had an accident in a big truck), I have been driving cars for the last 36 years, I have gone through no fewer than 6 different defensive driving courses and I am a safe defensive driver with an unblemished perfect driving record, yet I must buy auto insurance?!
Now they think they can force me to buy health insurance and get ripped off for that, too? I don't smoke cigarettes, smoke very little pot (it's just too expensive!), and have one beer every month, if I'm lucky. I also exercise and stay in shape.
But now I must buy health insurance? Well, what if I can't afford health insurance? What are they going to do, tell me I suddenly owe them $750? (That's the minimum fine, by the way, not the maximum.)
Well, what if I don't pay it? What do they think they will do then, throw me in prison (where I will get free medical care)?
This whole health care reform stuff is a crock, and I'm not going to put up with Obama trying to ram it down my throat.
Fine me all you want. I'm not buying it and I'm not going to pay your fine!
It's not like I have to have it so I can get to work...
