Woo-Hoo! The recession 'may' be over!

Here we go again.

Fed survey shows US recession may be over

"Economic activity is stabilizing or improving in the vast majority of the country, according to a new government survey, adding to evidence that the worst recession since the 1930s is over."

Oh, well I sure feel better!!!

What is this, the tenth or twelfth time the government has said the economy is turning around, only for it to get worse?

Words like 'may', 'maybe', 'could be', 'possibly', 'might', 'could' are meaningless and indicate nothing concrete. Why do they even bother?!
